FIREARMS and TACTICAL TRAINING for FILM
This 2 1/2 day Tactical Actions Group workshop prepares the performer (both actor and extra) for film and television roles involving the use of firearms and military / police tactics. Whether its SWAT, FBI, Uniform Officer, Soldier or Special Forces, the skill set taught in this course will assist you to confidently and professionally handle yourself on set when faced with these roles. For the background performer, the course better places you for consideration by Extras Casting Directors in their choice of people to handle firearms and perform associated special skills. It is also with this knowledge and confidence that productions will see you as a more viable candidate for upgrades regarding these roles. For the actor, building upon the extra’s ‘bag of tools’, the course will also provide you with a set of technical skills and choices that can be utilized both in the audition room and on-set.

INSTRUCTORS
Our instructors are actual military personnel and/or law enforcement officers (both former and actively serving) who are also involved in film and television. They range from non-union performers to full union UBCP performers. Our armourers are federally licensed having taken the CFSC and possessing both a firearm’s safety PAL licence and firearm’s business licence.
TIMES
This 2 1/2 day workshop will run the following hours
Friday: 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm (Meet and Greet, Uniform and Gear Prep, Admin, Q & A)
Saturday: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm (Training and Shooting)
Sunday: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm (Training and Shooting, Course Feedback, Certificates)
Please arrive 15 minutes early in order to start the class on time.

We will provide a catered lunch for everyone attending on Saturday and Sunday.Lunch will be approximately 1 hour.
It is our experience that students have a great time shooting and discussing real world issues and events with the instructors that we frequently go beyond the scheduled hours. Feel free to “stick around and chat” with us. If you have a pressing engagement requiring you to leave promptly, rest assured you will not miss any course content.
NOTES
Uniforms are provided. As such we will need your true clothing sizes.
You will be required to bring a belt, a black t-shirt (no logos) and your own pair of black boots.Running shoes are not suitable.
Boots must be either military (combat, jungle or dessert) or a variation of police hi-techs. Do not bring hiking, construction, cowboy, ankle, or any fashion boots as they are not appropriate. It is strongly recommended you have your own pair of black boots as casting frequently requests performers in these roles to bring their own pair of tactical boots. If you do not have a pair of appropriate boots, we can suggest places where you can pick up a pair inexpensively.
Lunch, coffee, tea and snacks will be provided throughout the day. Please let us know about any food allergies.
Upon completion of the course, a certificate will be issued.
A general photo package will be provided to you showcasing photos of your participation.
COST

$499.00 / person (includes 12% HST)
A tax deductible receipt will be issued to you.
A deposit of $249.00 is required to hold your space. The balance of $250.00 is due when you sign in at the course Friday evening. Payments in alternate increments are acceptable providing the balance is paid in full by Friday evening’s course commencement.
You may cancel anytime up to 3 weeks prior to course commencement and receive a full refund of your deposit.
Any cancellations within 3 weeks prior to the beginning of the course will be subject to a $100.00 cancellation fee. The balance of your deposit will be refunded to you.

The Firearms and Tactical Training workshop is a film oriented course. It is NOT the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) nor is it a substitute for the CFSC. The CFSC prepares a person for the safe use, proper storage and legalities associated with the possession and acquisition of firearms. Tactical Actions Group’s course deals with the safe usage of firearms in a film environment and the military / police adaptive tactics utilized on a film set.
